From Ivanka’s Desk: The First Anniversary of Our #WomenWhoWork Campaign
Ivanka looks back on the first year of our signature initiative.
A year ago today, my team and I launched the first official #WomenWhoWork video, celebrating modern, professional women, who work hard—at all aspects of their lives. I am so proud of the campaign and how it has grown from an idea between myself and the first few members of #TeamIvanka to an exciting conversation that's helping change the narrative around what it means to be a woman who works. We kicked things off with our initial video, which featured 12 incredibly inspiring, talented women sharing the many things they are working at, both personal and professional. They gave us their extended job titles—including the many roles they play that don’t make it on their business cards (mother, wife, friend) and articulating the passions that they pursue outside of the office (running, cooking, trapezing!). Then, my team and I weighed in with videos of our own and invited women everywhere to join the conversation.
Today, we continue to feature ambitious, passionate, intelligent women on our site who are redefining what it means to be a woman who works. Entrepreneurs in Residence like LearnVest Founder and CEO Alexa von Tobel, executive coach Elizabeth Cronise McLaughlin and psychologist Dr. Lauren Hazzouri regularly contribute to the site. In recent months we’ve featured everyone from Eva Chen to Birchbox Founder Katia Beauchamp. It’s our goal to continue creating content that inspires and empowers women to create the multidimensional lives they want to live. I am so grateful for the amazing response our campaign has received, and I can’t wait to show you what’s next for #TeamIvanka and the #WomenWhoWork initiative. We've got some very exciting things coming up in the very near future!
