From Ivanka’s Desk: A Quick Trip to Vancouver
#TeamIvanka just got back from a 24-hour trip to Canada—see what they were up to!
From Ivanka: I recently got back from a whirlwind, 24-hour trip to Vancouver with my chief brand officer, Abigail, and marketing director, Melanie. After work on Tuesday, the three of us met at JFK to catch an evening flight. Usually, I like to get work done on long flights, but we had a busy day ahead of us so we all decided to try and rest.
The three of us headed to Nordstrom early the next morning, where I met with about 100 of the store’s associates and managers to talk about my brand and the great solution-oriented products we’re creating for #womenwhowork. I also had the chance to spend time with our amazing customers—thank you to the many people who came out to say hello! We took photos in a photobooth with backdrops and props my design team created. I'm inspired every time I have the chance to meet our customers and hear their stories in person. I love finding out how they're styling the collection and using our product (if we haven't had the chance to meet, tell me on social! Tag @IvankaTrump and #WomenWhoWork—I read your comments!). I wore head-to-toe Ivanka Trump the entire time we were in Vancouver. You can shop my Carra Pumps at Zappos. My dress will be available in the spring of 2016—it’s the dress I felt the most comfortable in now that I’m nearly five months pregnant! After the morning at Nordstrom, I headed over to the construction site of the soon-to-be Trump International Hotel and Tower—after I changed into the flats I was carrying around in my bag! I’m so thrilled with the progress our team is making on this spectacular property. The tower, designed by acclaimed architect Arthur Erickson, will be a luxury hotel and residential project of the highest caliber. You can read more about the property here—since we published that piece, we’ve sold 98% of the residential units. It has been an unparalleled success story and is truly redefining the luxury real estate market in Vancouver. The property is scheduled to open next summer, and I absolutely can’t wait to return and see it completed. After a series of very productive meetings with our partners and architects, interior designers and construction teams, I had time for a quick outfit change and then headed to a celebratory cocktail party with several hundred of our project’s buyers and supporters. From there it was straight to the airport—although I did find a few extra minutes to pick up maple candies for the team back in New York before hopping on the plane home!
