From Ivanka’s Desk: The Opening of Trump Turnberry
Hear about her celebratory trip to the stunning Scotland property.
From Ivanka: This past weekend, I took a whirlwind trip to Scotland to celebrate the opening of Trump Turnberry alongside my father and brothers. We were honored to have the opportunity to renovate such a legendary resort, and I couldn’t be more proud of the result. In its storied past, Turnberry served as a Royal Air Force base through the two World Wars and the Ailsa course, considered the jewel in Scotland’s golfing crown, was home to some of golf’s most exciting Open Championships, including the famous “Duel in the Sun” between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson in 1977. The luxury hotel and championship golf course, which overlook the beautiful Ayrshire coast, have been completely renovated to surpass their former glory. From the iconic Turnberry Lighthouse—which now houses an absolutely incredible presidential suite and halfway house for golfers—to the stunning guest rooms and restaurants, we carefully considered every detail of the historic property. While it was a very short trip, it was wonderful to celebrate the reopening of this landmark resort alongside my family. We also took a quick visit to Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, where Jared and I snuck in a round of golf. I’m excited to share photos of this very special weekend with you!
