How Team Ivanka is Being Bold for Change
See how we’re celebrating International Women's Day 2017.
In honor of International Women’s Day, we, at Ivanka Trump HQ, are celebrating this year’s theme, Be Bold for Change. See the work we’re doing to empower one another and the new initiatives we have planned for this year in support of #IWD2017.
1. We're equipping the modern workforce—starting with our own policies
When we set out to build this brand, our goal was to create the best company any of us had ever worked for. Flexible work schedules and a results-oriented culture are a big part of that. They've become defining parts of our organization and genuinely make a difference in the lives of our team—enabling each of us to prioritize the different things that matter to us personally. This freedom allows us to succeed and without it, we would not be able to be nearly as successful. As we grow, our commitment to maintaining an environment that's focused on empowering multidimensional women (and men!) to thrive is essential.
2. We're championing women’s advancement
Each quarter, we invite an industry leader to lunch and we ask them to share some of their organization's best practices. Everyone on the team is invited to attend the session for their own professional development. This year, we'll be sharing our learnings on our site and social channels, offering more women the opportunity to learn from more leaders and adapt their ideas into their own lives and businesses.
3. We're supporting other women
As a company founded by a woman and now, led by a team of women, we are dedicated to lifting up the women around us. Each week we feature an inspiring new woman on our site—from top executives to rising stars. We’re also dedicated to helping other women-run businesses achieve success. This year, we're committed to working with small female-run enterprises whenever possible—illustrators, print shops, caterers and other vendors, included.
4. We're enabling our team to give back
We’re giving each member on Team Ivanka carte blanche to spend four full workdays a year contributing to an organization of their choosing that benefits women and girls. From volunteering with children in Thailand to working with underserved high school students here in New York City, we're already busy putting our plans into action.
