The Spill: KMM Sports Founder Kelli Masters
Peek inside the agent’s game-day bag.
Kelli Masters, the agent who founded KMM Sports, shared her advice for finding success in a male-dominated environment (hello, NFL). I love a crossbody because I need my hands free to carry papers. Inside my bag, I always have sunscreen—essential on game days—and lip gloss and compact powder for touch-ups. I’ve got a notebook on me most of the time, because even when I make digital notes, I like to rewrite them on paper. I also like to have a fancy, engraved pen with me, because it makes an impression when I’m signing new players or signing my existing clients’ contracts. The first time a player took notice of how authoritative my pen was, I decided to always have a nice one on me (in addition to tons of freebie hotel pens). I keep a wristlet in my crossbody that I can take out and use for games—you can't bring anything larger into a football stadium—and leave my bag in the car. I also carry a pair of boots or wedges, because, as much as I love heels, they won’t cut it on the field.
