5 Tips to Boost Your Workout

Peter Monge, Ivanka’s trainer and the founder of NYFitness, has five basic tips for making your time at the gym more effective. Workout Tip #1: Every workout should be different. Aim to improve your weight and reps each time. Workout Tip #2: Choose exercises that challenge your large muscle groups like the chest, back and legs. Workout Tip #3: Push-ups, pull-ups and squats are king—they work many muscles simultaneously. Workout Tip #4: The most efficient intensity level for exercising on a scale from 1-10 is between 6 and 8. Workout Tip #5: Test yourself at the end of each month. Analyze what is working and adjust accordingly.
