How to Pack for a Spring Business Trip

Hitha Palepu, the packing pro behind Hitha on the Go, shares her best tips.

#WomenWhoWork Hitha Palepu When you need your sink fixed, you call a plumber. When you need your bags packed (perfectly and efficiently), you call Hitha Palepu. The blogger behind Hitha on the Go is a bonafide packing pro. “It started when I was a little kid, watching my mother prepare for our two- to three-month trips to India,” Hitha recalls. “She’d fit not only the most essential basics for us, like toilet paper and tissues, but also gifts for people. It seemed like she was giving gifts to the entire population of India. It started as watching her and being fascinated by it and, as I got older, helping her do it.” Fast forward to adulthood, when Hitha was working for a pharmaceutical company, traveling every week. “I was in a constant state of packing, unpacking and repacking,” she says. Friends would call her for packing advice, and she would show up with a bottle of wine, play music and get them packed. She started sharing her packing tips and interviews with frequent fliers on her site, which has become known as a top online resource for practical travel advice. Today, Hitha is working on her upcoming book, Pack Perfect, and traveling almost strictly for pleasure. "Apply dry shampoo before an overnight flight to stop greasy hair before it even begins." — Hitha Palepu #WomenWhoWork She shared her checklist (and a few smart hacks!) for your next business trip.
